Gamer Maps

Privacy & Terms

How Gamer Maps handles your location and data, and the terms that cover using the app and unlocking Full Map Access.

Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-09-14Applies to Gamer Maps for iOS and CarPlayContact ahmadabusalehhh@gmail.com

Written in plain language on purpose. Gamer Maps is a solo-built app, there is no analytics vendor, ad network, or data broker anywhere in it, and this policy is short because there isn't much to disclose.

1

What we collect

Gamer Maps collects only what it needs to draw a map and guide a trip.

  • Your location, to show your position, follow your route, and speak turn-by-turn guidance.
  • Places you search for or save, kept on your device, to build your route and your saved-places list.
  • App preferences: theme, units, voice on or off, and similar settings.
2

Your location

Location is used to position you on the map and to calculate and follow a route. While you're actively navigating, Gamer Maps can keep tracking your location in the background, including with the screen off, solely so guidance doesn't stop mid-trip. This follows Apple's background-location rules and stops the moment you end the trip.

We do not log, sell, or build any history of where you've been.

3

What we never do

There's no server run by us that your trips are logged to. Voice guidance plays from audio recorded in advance and bundled with the app, nothing you say or hear is sent anywhere.

  • No analytics SDK
  • No ad network
  • No data sold
  • No account or sign-in
  • No location history stored
4

Services we use

Three outside services do real work in the app, and each sees only what that specific task needs.

  • OpenStreetMap, for map data and imagery: sees nothing, map tiles are requested and no trip data is sent.
  • Apple MapKit, for place search: sees your search text, under Apple's own privacy terms.
  • A routing service, for turn-by-turn directions: sees the start and end coordinates for the one trip being routed.
5

What's stored, and where

Saved places, recent searches, and your preferences live only in the app's local storage on your device, and, for Apple's own device-to-device sync features, wherever your iCloud account already syncs app data. None of it passes through a server we operate.

6

In-app purchases

Full Map Access is billed entirely by Apple. We never see your card number, billing address, or any other payment detail, Apple tells the app only whether the purchase succeeded.

7

Children

Gamer Maps isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect data from them, it's a driving-navigation app rated for a general audience.

8

Your choices

  • Location access can be turned off or limited to "while using" any time in iOS Settings.
  • Saved places and recent searches can be cleared from Settings inside the app.
  • Voice guidance can be muted from Settings.
  • Deleting the app deletes everything it stored locally.
9

Changes to this policy

If this ever changes in a way that matters, a new service added, a new kind of data collected, the date at the top of this page will move and, for anything material, the app itself will say so.

Terms of Use

The short version: drive safely, the map is a guide not a guarantee, and Full Map Access is a one-time unlock billed and refunded through Apple.

1

Agreement

Installing or using Gamer Maps means you agree to these terms and to Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which governs the app by default: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.

2

Navigation is not gospel

Map data, routes, and turn-by-turn guidance are estimates built from community map data (OpenStreetMap) and a routing engine, both can be wrong, out of date, or missing a closure, a one-way change, or a new sign.

Always follow actual road signage, traffic signals, and the law over anything the app tells you. You are solely responsible for operating your vehicle safely. Never interact with the app in a way that takes your attention off driving.

3

Full Map Access

Full Map Access is a single, non-consumable in-app purchase. Buying it once unlocks, permanently, every map theme (including any theme added in a future update), spoken voice guidance, and CarPlay.

The price shown at purchase is set by Apple for your storefront and currency. Payment, receipts, and refunds are all handled by Apple, not by us. To request a refund, use reportaproblem.apple.com, or Settings, your name, Media & Purchases on your device.

Already bought it on another device with the same Apple ID? Use "Restore Purchases" in the app, no need to pay twice.

4

Redeem codes

A small number of promotional codes grant the same unlock as buying Full Map Access, at no charge, at our discretion. A code is not a purchase and isn't refundable because nothing was paid.

5

Acceptable use

Use Gamer Maps for its intended purpose, finding places and getting directions to them. Don't reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app or its map styling, and don't attempt to bypass the Full Map Access unlock.

6

No warranty

Gamer Maps is provided as-is and as-available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty that routes, ETAs, or map data are accurate, complete, or uninterrupted.

7

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the developer of Gamer Maps is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including a traffic violation, an accident, a missed turn, or a delay, arising from using or being unable to use the app. Where liability can't be excluded entirely, it's limited to the amount you paid for Full Map Access in the twelve months before the claim, or ten US dollars if you paid nothing.

8

Map and theme content

Underlying map data is (c) OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License. The game-inspired visual themes are original artwork and styling created for Gamer Maps, offered as playful reinterpretations. Gamer Maps is an independent app and is not produced, endorsed, or affiliated with the publishers of the games that inspired those themes.

9

Governing terms

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These terms, together with Apple's Standard EULA above, are the whole agreement between you and us about using the app.
